Virulence Factor Targeting Therapeutics
The AMR Problem
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a critical global health challenge as infections are increasingly difficult to treat due to resistant bacteria. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a World Health Organization priority pathogen associated with severe hospital-acquired infections with high levels of resistance. There is a global unmet need to improve the way we treat bacterial infections.
VEIRULENCE DISARMS BACTERIA
Virulence factors are the weapon systems bacteria use to cause disease. Our small molecule specifically targets swarming, a key virulence factor of P. aeruginosa. This approach not only prevents an infection taking hold but works synergistically with antibiotics to enhance their efficacy.
