Marin Kollef

Dr. Marin Kollef is a Professor of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine and leads Respiratory Care Services and Critical Care Research at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He has published over 600 research papers, mainly on improving care and preventing infections in intensive care units.

Dr. Kollef has received many honors, including being named among the “Best Doctors in America.” He has also earned awards for quality improvement programs focused on preventing ventilator-associated pneumonia, bloodstream infections, and sepsis.

He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and earned his M.D. from the University of Rochester. During Operation Desert Storm, he served with the First Infantry Division, earning the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, and Combat Medical Badge.

Dr. Kollef is on the editorial boards of several medical journals and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Chest Physicians. He is also a member of various professional societies related to respiratory care and critical care medicine.
